The Resurrection Of Jesus Christ Is Our Seal Of Redemption, Victory – Senator Bassey Albert

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), Senator Bassey Albert Akpan (OBA) has called on leaders and Christians to emulate the exemplary and humane lifestyle of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

In his Easter Message, Senator Bassey Albert, who represents Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, in his Easter Message, said the solemn occasion offers the Christendom and the world at large, the opportunity to reflect on the essence of leadership and service to the people as demonstrated by the Messiah.

He said, “Of note, the exemplary and humane life of Jesus Christ exposed the vainglorious and self-righteous character of the Pharisees and Scribes – traits which unfortunately are still with us today. As followers of Christ, this should not be so in our dealings with each other.

“At whatever rung of life, leaders and Christians generally, must avoid being contemptuous at one another. We must not use our positions to victimize, deride, deprive the rights of others or hold prejudices against fellow men as these are detestable acts before God.

According to him, the crucifixion, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ as celebrated, is the seal of redemption and victory for Christians and the world at large,

The statement reads, “It is indeed a glorious moment for the Christendom and the world at large as Easter; connoting the crucifixion, death and resurrection of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ is celebrated.

“Easter Sunday, marking the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the consummation – to wit, the highpoint of his messianic mission on earth. We praise the Almighty God for this inexpressible gift, who successfully overcame the power of sin and death, in order to restore man’s sonship with God, wherein lies the seal of our redemption and victory in the world.

“As we mark this solemn occasion, may we reflect on the humility, sacrifice, love, steadfastness and dedication of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ throughout his life on Earth, culminating in his total submission to the will of God as a sacrificial lamb for the rebirth of man.”

Senator Albert, on behalf of his wife, Imaobong Nkeiru Albert and family, expressed profound felicitations to Governor Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and wife, Constituents of Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial Districts as well as friends and well-wishers across the state and beyond, on the solemn celebration of Easter.

According to him, the labour of love as shown by Jesus Christ will remain his operative principle at all times with an assurance that he will continue to sustain the collective dreams of all in the senatorial districts and beyond.

“The labour of love as clearly exemplified by our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ is cardinal to me at all times. God has continually stood by me to give a good account of my stewardship and representation of our people to whom I remained ever indebted.

“I shall he will continue to sustain the collective dreams of all and our successes shall surely continue from glory to glory,” he stressed.
