2027: Uyo Senatorial District Youths Condemn Incessant Insult on Gov. Eno

As Senator Bob Says Umo Eno’s Second Term Remains Sacrosanct.

The leadership and youths of Uyo Senatorial District have expressed grave concern over the recent unwarranted personal attacks against Governor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, and the political leader of Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Effiong Bob, by some politicians on social media.

The forum said while they welcome issue-based criticism as a tenet of democratic governance, “We condemn in its entirety the uncouth, unguided, and defamatory attacks targeting the personal and family lives of the governor and leader of our senatorial district.”

The group, which made the remarks during a courtesy visit to Senator Bob at his residence on Friday in Uyo, maintained that henceforth, any direct insult against His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, or any leader of Uyo Senatorial District shall be regarded as an affront to the collective intelligence and dignity of the youths of this Senatorial District. The youth forum said they have drawn the attention of the relevant security agencies to the matter and urged them to take proactive measures to curb the menace.

They averred, “We express our profound gratitude to His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, for his developmental strides that continue to place Akwa Ibom State on the global map. We remain firmly committed to supporting, promoting, and defending his “ARISE AGENDA” and his continuity in office through 2031.

On his own, the political leader of Uyo Senatorial District and former two-term senator of Akwa Ibom North East Senatorial District, Senator Effiong Bob, also advised youths to play politics devoid of bitterness as the race for Hilltop Mansion in 2027 heats up in the state.

Senator Bob, who warns that hurling unnecessary attacks, insults and vituperation on the person of the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno, is a trend that is no longer accepted in politics.

“I want to make it clear that persons who are not comfortable with any policy of the governor can constructively and objectively criticise them in a way their reasons will be acknowledged, not raining abuses on the person of the governor.”

Senator Bob categorically said that there is no vacancy in Government House in 2027, stressing that the governor has done so well, which prompted the people of Uyo Senatorial District to openly endorse him for a second term recently.

He highlighted that the state has a tradition of allowing every successive governor since 1999 to enjoy eight straight years in office and that Governor Umo Eno will not be an exception because he is doing very well as a governor.

He added, “The governor has not only performed well in infrastructural expansion and economic stimulus of the state but has also shown compassion to our people. He came and almost cleared over 12 years’ backlog of pensions and gratuities owed to retired workers in civil service and built several homes for the poor families and empowered the indigents, among many laudable achievements.”

He urges the youths to take charge and embark on massive mobilisation and campaign to ensure seamless return of the governor to office in 2027 to continue his good job of developing the state.
