A New Television Station About To Debut In Akwa Ibom
A private television station, TAF TV, would soon be launched in Akwa Ibom State by the founder of the first privately owned indigenous radio station in Akwa Ibom, Mr Tony Afia.
Mr Afia, who is the chairman of Planet FM, disclosed this in a meeting with the members of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN), Akwa Ibom State chapter, at his Uyo office recently.
The ICSAN members led by the chapter chairman, Mr Aniedi Amos, paid a courtesy visit to Planet FM to inform the chairman of their upcoming annual conference on Friday, November 27, 2020 and to seek partnership with the foremost radio station in the state.

In his remark to the delegation, the chairman of Planet FM, Mr Afia, appreciated ICSAN for their recognition and seized the opportunity to inform the ICSAN members that TAF TV had received a national licence to flout a television station that would be at par with Channels TV, Arise and AIT.
He said TAFTV is located at Ibiaku Uruan in the same premises that houses Planet FM and that work is at more than 60per cent completion.
“We are actually building a TV station. We have gone far. If you go to taftv.com, you will see what we are doing. We are done with the building and we are working on the inside. We already have the administrative staff from Planet FM, what we will need now are the people who will work in the studio and so on”, he said.
Mr Afia said TAFtv would be the first privately owned cable television station in the Akwa-Cross region and would offer viewers a mix of news, talk, sports, entertainment and lifestyle programmes from the beautiful hills of Ibiaku Uruan, Akwa Ibom State.
