A Socio-political Group; One-For-Eight Initiative Gets New Officers

A new set of officers have been appointed as members of the executive committee to pilot the affairs of a renowned socio-political organization in Akwa Ibom State, the One-For-Eight Initiative.

The newly reconstituted Executive Committee was inaugurated on Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State capital.

The chairman, Board of Trustees of the One-For-Eight Initiative, Prince Godwin Ntuk Udeh, Ph.D., in his speech at the event, thanked the Almighty God for keeping members of the organization in life and good health for all these years.

Prince Ntuk Udeh thanked the members for their steadfastness and commitments in the organization and prayed God to bless and reward them accordingly.

 

One-For-Eight initiative

Ntuk Udeh used the occasion to appeal to members of the organization to remain committed in rendering sacrificial services that will enhance the growth of 1for8 Initiative more than ever.

In his valedictory speech, the immediate past Prime Minister of the One-For-Eight Initiative, Elder Friday Iwok thanked members of the group for the opportunity given to him to serve.

Elder Iwok said that his love for the organization was what excited him to accept the appointment to serve as Prime Minister without hesitation.

Elder Iwok, a former member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, expressed joy that One-For-Eight Initiative is still vibrant and potent in its activities and responsibilities.

He promised to work with the newly appointed Prime Minister and other Executive members of the organization to achieve its set goals and objectives.

In his acceptance speech, the newly appointed Prime Minister of the One-For-Eight Initiative, Bishop Ahaziah Umanah thanked God for what he described as the dawn of the new century.

He said that the emergence of the new Executive Committee of the organization marks a new era of living to achieve the organization’s motto which is: Service Before Self.

Bishop Umanah therefore admonished other members of the newly appointed Exco and by extension all members of the 1for8 Initiative to remain committed, dedicated and united in bracing up as believers on a mission to salvage the decaying country from impending wreckage.

“As committed citizens of our state and nation, we must do all in our power, as individuals and dedicated members of One-For-Eight Initiative, to support our governments, criticize them constructively when necessary, help to purge them of miscreants and agents of social and national instabilities, while as believers, standing firm on our belief that we can only prosper as a State/Nation, when we serve selflessly, objectively and honestly,” the Prime Minister admonished.

Apart from the Prime Minister, Bishop (Prof) Ahaziah Umanah, some other newly appointed Executive members of the One-For-Eight Initiative include: Barr. Ekpa B. Ekpa – Secretary General/Legal Adviser; Prof. Ayandele – Assistant Secretary General, Akparawa killian Thompson – Director of Organisation; Elder Jenny Owoenieng – Treasurer and Ms Comfort Umanah – Director of Publicity.

Also appointed were coordinators of the group for the 31 local government areas of Akwa Ibom State.
