A Solid Future For A’Ibom Children Our Priority – Gov Eno

Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, has reiterated that laying a solid foundation for the future of Akwa Ibom children remains a top priority of his administration.

Governor Eno, speaking while receiving pupils from King’s Kids Christian Montessori School, Uyo, in his office during a guided tour of Government House on Friday, March 13, 2026, said that despite his busy schedule, he made time to receive them because of his deep passion for children.

He noted that it is the foremost responsibility of the government to provide a secure and peaceful environment for its citizens, as well as a safe and supportive academic atmosphere that fosters a strong educational foundation and enables children to excel in their studies.

“We are here to receive you, most importantly because I pay particular attention to children. The truth is that you are the future of the world. What you see and what you do today has a way of making an indelible mark on you.

“Our job is to make sure that you have a secure environment and a peaceful State where you can read your books and concentrate on your studies,” he said.

The Governor encouraged the pupils to be inspired by the visit, urging them to study hard and grow into responsible future leaders, while assuring them that his administration is working diligently to build a legacy that will enable them to realise their dreams and aspirations.

“I hope this visit will motivate and inspire you to study hard. We are giving our today because of your tomorrow, so that we can build a lasting legacy for you to grow.

“We are working here to ensure that we maintain peace and order and also see to the welfare of all Akwa Ibomites. That is why your parents voted for us and sent us here to serve everyone,” he added.

Governor Eno also commended the teachers for their dedication, guidance, and commitment to nurturing the pupils, describing them as worthy role models.

Miss Ruth Thank-God, the senior prefect, expressed her appreciation on behalf of the pupils to the governor.

During the visit, the children were conducted around the Governor’s office, giving them a firsthand look at the workings of Government House. They were later treated to bountiful backpacks filled with educational materials and meal packs, with each backpack specially decorated with the ARISE badge, symbolically making the pupils ambassadors of the initiative.

Speaking on behalf of the pupils, the Senior Prefect, Miss Ruth Thank-God, expressed appreciation to the Governor for the warm reception and for granting them an audience despite his demanding schedule. She commended the Governor for his efforts in making the State a better place for all and described him as a great leader and source of inspiration to young people.

Also speaking, the Deputy Head Teacher (academics), Mrs Grace Ben, thanked the Governor for creating time to receive the pupils and for demonstrating genuine care and concern for children, noting that the visit would serve as a lasting source of inspiration for them.

The highlight of the visit was the presentation of an Award of Leadership Excellence to the Governor by the pupils of the school.
