Activities For Police Day 2026 Rolled Out

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, under the leadership of the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare fsi, is set to commemorate the 2026 Police Day with a series of activities aimed at highlighting the vital role of the Police in ensuring peace and security across the State.
The week-long celebration, an annual event held in honour of the Nigeria Police Force, is themed “Community Partnership: Building Trust.”
DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Akwa Ibom State Command, announced the event in a press release issued in Uyo on Thursday, March 26, 2026.
DSP John said the programmes are designed to strengthen community relations, showcase police capabilities, and promote public safety, while providing opportunities for meaningful engagement between the Police and the public.
“As part of the activities lined up for the celebration, personnel of the Command will embark on community-based outreach programmes, including environmental sanitation exercises across selected locations, as well as medical outreach services for members of the public.

“There will also be a coordinated walkathon with officers participating to promote unity, visibility, and community engagement,” she stated.
She added that the Command will carry out public sensitisation campaigns focusing on the prevention of electoral violence and other related offences. Road users will also be educated on safe driving practices and the importance of compliance with traffic regulations.
The programme will further feature a solemn presentation of welfare cheques to families of deceased officers in honour of the sacrifices made by fallen heroes and as part of ongoing efforts to support their loved ones.
According to her, the celebration will culminate in a grand finale scheduled to be held on April 7, 2026, in Abuja.
She said the Command invites members of the public to actively participate in the scheduled activities and join in celebrating the dedication and sacrifices of officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force.
DSP John further expressed the assurances of the Commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammed Azare fsi, to the people of Akwa Ibom State of the Command’s unwavering commitment to maintaining peace and security.
The Commissioner, she said, emphasised the importance of sustained collaboration between the Police and the public in the fight against crime.
