AIG Zone 6 Undertakes Official Visit To Akwa Ibom State Police Command, Reiterates Committment To Professionalism And Anti-corruption

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 6 Headquarters, Calabar, AIG Auwal Musa Muhammed, PSC, anipr, paid an official working visit to the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Monday, October 13, 2025.

The AIG was warmly received by the Commissioner of Police, Akwa Ibom State Command, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, Mnipr, fsi, alongside members of the Command’s Management Team and other senior officers at the Command’s Conference Hall, State Police Headquarters, Ikot Akpan Abia, Uyo.

In his welcome address, CP Baba Mohammed Azare, Mnipr, fsi, expressed profound appreciation to the AIG for his continuous support, guidance, and cooperation with the Command.

The Commissioner reaffirmed the commitment of officers and men of the Command to intensify efforts in the effective discharge of their duties, uphold the highest standards of integrity, and redouble efforts in combating all forms of corruption.

Responding, AIG Auwal Musa Muhammed, Psc, Anipr, commended the Command for the warm reception and charged officers to remain steadfast, disciplined, and dedicated in their duties. He issued a strong warning against corruption, extortion, and all forms of unprofessional conduct, noting that such acts tarnish the image of the Nigeria Police Force and will not be tolerated.

The AIG, while emphasising the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, categorically warned officers against meddling in civil matters, particularly land disputes.

He stressed that any officer found culpable would face severe disciplinary sanctions.

He further enjoined all personnel to carry out their responsibilities with diligence, integrity, and respect for human rights, maintaining professionalism in all engagements while shunning every irregularity.

According to DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), the visit to Akwa Ibom State Command served as a morale booster and reinforced the strategic vision of the Force leadership in promoting a professional, accountable, and citizen-focused policing system.
