Aka Offot Village Head Congratulates Prof Chris Ekong On Appointment As Vice Chancellor of UNIUYO

The Village Head of Aka Offot Community in Uyo Local Government Area, Eteidung Anthony Etim Ekanem, has hailed Professor Chris Ekong on his appointment as the substantive Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo by the Governing Council of the institution.

Eteidung Ekanem, in a congratulatory message on behalf of the village, dated, May 15, 2026, said that Prof Ekong possesses the requisite charisma, courage, administrative acumen as well as a proven track record of excellence to positively change the narrative at the University of Uyo and etch his name in indelible history during his tenure.

The royal father said the people of Aka Offot are eternally grateful to God for using the Governing Council of the university to select Prof Ekong as the first among your equals and prayed God to endow him with wisdom, understanding, and the know-how to take the university to a well-sought-after centre of academic excellence and moral compass.

Eteidung Ekanem urged the University community to rally around the new Vice Chancellor to succeed and wished him a successful and impactful tenure as he prepares to assume office in June 2026.

The message read: “It is with a deep sense of pride and honour that I, Eteidung Anthony Etim Ekanem, on behalf of the Chiefs, Elders and the entire peace-loving people of Aka Offot, write to congratulate you on your meritorious appointment as the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo by the Governing Council of the institution.
