The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has pledged to continue its partnership with all security agencies in Akwa Ibom State.
Apostle Abasiandikan Nkono, the Akwa Ibom State Representative on the Governing Board of the NDDC, made this statement on Tuesday, when he received Brigadier General N.E. Okolougu, Commander of the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army Cantonment, Mbiokporo, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, alongside other top brass of the Brigade.
Apostle Nkono noted that since the NDDC’s formation in 2000, the Commission has worked closely with security agencies in the region, adding that this robust relationship has contributed to the peaceful environment experienced in the Niger Delta.

Commending the Chairman of the 9th NDDC Board, Barr. Chiedu Ebie; the Managing Director, Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD; and other Board members for providing commendable services to the region, which have earned the praise of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, he promised that the Commission will continue to provide life-changing projects for the people of the Niger Delta.
“NDDC maintains a cordial and robust relationship with the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Mbiokporo, Nsit Ibom LGA, and other security agencies in the region. The Commission will sustain this relationship for the good of the region and its people.”
“The current Board, led by Barr. Chiedu Ebie as Chairman and Chief Samuel Ogbuku, PhD, as Managing Director, with the support of all members of the 9th Board, has performed exceedingly well, earning the commendation of President Bola Tinubu.”

“There is no state in the region where the Commission’s impact is not felt, from road construction and free medical services to water provision, solar-powered lights, and other amenities.”
Apostle Nkono also highlighted the Commission’s intentional efforts to contribute to the region’s development by awarding foreign and local scholarships to deserving indigenes of the Niger Delta, emphasizing the value the Commission places on education.

The Commander of the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Mbiokporo, Nsit Ibom LGA, Brigadier General N.E. Okolougu, commended the Commission for its partnership with the Army and other security agencies in the state and region.
“As the new Commander of the 2 Brigade, I commend the NDDC for its partnership with the Army over the years. I am here to familiarize myself with the NDDC and to solicit the Commission’s partnership in areas such as infrastructural development, solar-powered lights, and other essential amenities.”

In his vote of thanks, the Akwa Ibom State Director of NDDC, Engr. Evong Evong, lauded Brig. Gen. NE Okolougu for leading the on the visit to the Akwa Ibom State office of NDDC and further pledged to sustain the partnership between the NDDC and security agencies.

Management staff, principal officers of the NDDC Akwa Ibom State office, officers of the 2 Brigade, Nigerian Army, Mbiokporo, and aides to the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner were in attendanc during the courtesy call.
