Convener of The New Nigeria Group, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa has presented a roadmap to Nigeria’s economic recovery, saying he would implement it if elected as President of the country in 2023.
Addressing members of the forum in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Mazi Ohuabunwa decried that the high unemployment rate in the country is caused by the mismanagement of human and natural resources by its leaders.
He disclosed that under his presidency, Nigeria will vigorously pursue economic diversification away from oil and encourage private sector participation through liberal incentives.
Mazi Ohuabunwa also disclosed that his vision is “to make Nigeria become a first world country, where all the citizens live in harmony, are treated equally to achieve peace and prosperity for all.”

According to him, his key focus as President would be to tackle poverty, corruption, injustice and insecurity.
“Through job creation, these problems can be checkmated. Every Nigerian adult within the employable age, who is ready to work, shall get a job. We have the resources to make that happen, but what has missed over the years is the lack of will to do it,” he explained.
He called on members of the forum to work assiduously to ensure that dream comes to fruition, for the sake of a better Nigeria.
The group also inaugurated its Akwa Ibom State Chapter. The inaugurated members are: Rev. (Engr) J. B Effiong, Chairman; Dr Etido Ibekwe, Vice Chairman; Elder (Pharm.) Edet Eniang, Secretary; Mr Tony Okpon, Uyo Senatorial District Coordinator; Chief Atako Okporo, Eket Senatorial District Coordinator; and Pharm. Isong Isang, Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District Coordinator.
