CSR: Over 1300 Persons Benefit From Champion Breweries Medical Outreach In A’Ibom

More than 1300 persons with various health challenges have received free medical treatment through Champion Breweries Plc’s medical outreach organised for indigenes of the Nung Oku community in Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility.
The two-day medical outreach, which was done in collaboration with Ima Bridge Hospital at the hospital premises, features free eye consultations, health education sessions, eye screening and distribution of reading glasses, screening and treatment for malaria, hypertension, diabetes, and other common conditions, and health awareness campaigns tailored to support residents of the community.
Addressing the people before the flagging off of the event, the Managing Director of Champion Breweries Plc, Dr Inalegwu Adoga, said Champion Breweries has long been committed to delivering life-touching projects that enhance the wellbeing of the people of the state, reaffirming its commitment to positively impacting its host communities.

Represented by Mr Theophilus Akporie, Head, Logistics and Operational Excellence, the managing director maintained that the company will remain committed to ensuring that the host communities and the good people of Akwa Ibom State win together with the firm in all its undertakings.

We are here to provide quality medical care for your health issues. Medical experts will also counsel you on common health challenges and wellness.
The managing director urged the patients to embrace the opportunity provided by the medical outreach to address their various health challenges and tasked them to pay adequate attention at the health education centre to enable them to live a healthier life.

He highlighted that the event is yet another way of giving back to the society and ensuring that the host communities are rewarded for their continuous support and cooperation with the firm.
Also speaking at the event, the Chairman of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area of the state, Hon. Edidiong Joseph Inyang, described the free medical mission by Champion Breweries as very impactful and timely.

The council chairman highlighted that no investment in the health sector is too much, as the wellbeing and welfare of the people remain paramount, urging other firms to emulate Champion Breweries Plc.
Addressing the people, the Chief Medical Director of Ima Bridge Hospital, Dr Joseph Ekpeyong, highlighted the causes of various ailments such as high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes and many more and how they can be prevented through healthy living and periodic medical check-ups.
Beneficiaries of the medical outreach, who spoke with journalists, expressed deep-seated gratitude to Champion Breweries PLC for their kind intervention and urged the company to sustain the generosity.
They commended the beverage company for its unwavering dedication to improving healthcare access and community well-being.
One of the octogenarian beneficiaries, Madam Ekaette Etim Okon, said the medical outreach has restored her hope and confidence to keep moving on.
