The Executive Chairman of Eastern Obolo Local Government Council in Akwa Ibom State, Rt. Hon. Elder Abraham Odion has said that the development of OML13, a major oil and gas infrastructure, will change the face of their area, the State, South-South and indeed the nation at large.
The Chairman, who spoke on the occasion of the inspection of NPCD and NOSL Oil and Gas Exploration in OML -13 by Governor Udom Emmanuel recently, said the council and the entire people of Eastern Obolo Local Government Area are very happy about hosting the infrastructure.
Elder Odion lauded Governor Udom Emmanuel for partnering with foreign investors to attract multidimensional investments covering oil and gas to Akwa Ibom State.
He said that Eastern Obolo is happy with Gov Emmanuel for the Industrial Revolution, providing massive employment for their teeming youths.
“Your Excellency, it is with a heart of joy and appreciation that I welcome you and your entourage to Eastern Obolo, the land of all goodness on the occasion of your visit for the inspection of OML13.
“This visit has a direct bearing on your completion agenda and industrialization. The development of OML13 is a major infrastructure that will change the face of Eastern Obolo, Akwa Ibom State, South-South and indeed the Nigerian community at large.

“Your partnership with foreign investors has yielded tremendous benefits to Akwa Ibom State, and this is one of the many results your partnership has brought to bear. The multiplier effect of this magnificent investment is uncountable, and this will trickle down to the common Akwa Ibomites,” he stated.
He highlighted that OML13 has three locations situated in Iko town and Elekpon – all in Eastern Obolo Local Government Area and other eight sites, while the MFS (Main Flow Station) is located here in Atabrikang.
While reiterating that OML13 products are majorly crude oil, Elder Odion noted that Eastern Obolo has the richest oil content in Akwa Ibom State covering offshore and onshore.
He expressed happiness that OML13 is currently drilling while completion and production stages will be reached later in the year and commended NRDC and NOSL oil and gas exploration in OML-13 and their entire staff for being highly professional and logical in their dealings with the good people of Eastern Obolo, and hoped for more progress and success in future.
The Chairman assured that the council and people will do their best to protect the facilities as well as engender a favourable community relationship with the company.
