Disclaimer Against Any Personalized Ringtones
The attention of Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, Chairman, Senate Committee on Petroleum Resources (Upstream), who represents Akwa Ibom North East, has been drawn to an alleged plan by some unknown persons to use his name to devise personalized ringtones for mobile phones.
According to the security information at the disposal of the Distinguished Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, who is the Chairman, Akwa Ibom State Caucus of the National Assembly, the purported ringtones, carry politically motivated lyrics.
Accordingly, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan wishes to disclaim any or such ringtones with or without lyrics that have political connotations for users of mobile phones.
As a focused lawmaker, law abiding and responsible citizen, Senator Bassey Albert Akpan, has neither authorized, commissioned nor indicated interest in any personalized ringtones for whatever purposes.

He therefore advises those who may be involved in such sinister motive to desist forthwith, and has urged security agencies to be on guard against such ill-motivated plans.
The Senator acknowledges the massive support by hundreds of thousands of his constituents, supporters and admirers within and beyond Akwa Ibom State, who are very appreciative of his laudable community services, people empowerment programmes and excellent performances in the Senate.
