Dr Uma Ukpai’s Demise: PFN Mourns

Over 65 million members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) have mourned the demise of one of their founding fathers, Rev. Dr Uma Ukpai.
This was made known to journalists by the leadership of the religious body during a press briefing at the NUJ Press Centre in Uyo recently.
Speaking, the National President of the PFN, Bishop Wale Oke, who was represented by the National Secretary, Bishop David Bakare, expressed concern that Dr Uma Ukpai’s demise occurred at a time when the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria was at the peak of arrangements for its 40th anniversary celebration. He, however, stated that to make the event memorable, the PFN will make the 40th anniversary a celebration of all that Rev. Uma stood for while he was alive.
Bishop Bakare maintained that the late Dr Uma Ukpai was an icon of great value, the strength of the PFN, a trailblazer and a wonderful gift from God, not only to the church or nation, but the world at large.
His words: “Although he has gone to be with the Lord, we are going to make the 40th Anniversary a celebration of all Baba stood for while he was still on earth. So, on the 19th of October, all the 36 states of Nigeria plus the FCT will hold a Thanksgiving and Award Service to celebrate all the icons who have been of great blessing to PFN, and of course, Baba would be officially celebrated.”
