Ekpri Nsukara Offot Bubbles With Obsequies For Late Village Head, Eteidung Linus Etim Essien

All is now set for the funeral service in honour of the Late Village Head of Ekpri Nsukara Offot in Uyo Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, Eteidung Linus Etim Essien.

The funeral service is to be conducted by The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ekpri Nsukara Offot, holds at the Ekpri Nsukara International Schools, Enisco Avenue, off Ekpri Nsukara Road, Uyo, on Friday, December 23, 2022, by 10.00 am.

The Late Eteidung Linus Etim Essien joined his ancestors on July 29, 2022, after a brief illness at the age of 76.

He was the Chairman of the Ekpri Nsukara Offot Village Council between 1994 -1998 and was selected and installed as the Village Head of Ekpri Nsukara Offot in 2002.

Before ascending the throne, he worked in several government establishments including United Bank for Africa (UBA), Akwa Ibom State Water Cooperation, Qua River Hotel, Eket and Akwa Ibom Agricultural Development Programme (AKADEP).

His 20 years of reign is said to have greatly transformed Ekpri Nsukara Offot – bringing peace, unity, tranquillity and development to the community.

He was also eulogized as a father to all, including residents and non-indigenes alike in the Village and beyond.

A devout Christian, the Late Eteidung Linus Etim Essien was a member of The Apostolic Church Nigeria, until his demise.

Activities in honour of the departed village head, commenced on Monday, December 19, 2022, with the opening of Mourning House at 93 Ekpri Nsukara Offot, Uyo, while visitation was held on Tuesday – Wednesday, December, 20-21, 2022.

Speaking with newsmen, the Chairman, Contact and Mobilization of the Funeral Planning Committee, Otuekong Emem Asikpo said the community deeply mourns the late village Head, Eteidung Linus Etim Essien and is doing everything possible to accord him the honour he rightly deserves.

Otuekong Asikpo, said eminent leaders in Akwa Ibom State including top government officials, religious groups and traditional institutions have identified with Ekpri Nsukara Offot on the death of the village Head, through condolence messages, prayers and visits.

Meanwhile, the funeral service on Friday, December 23, 2022, by 10.00AM will be preceded by Lying-in-State by 8.00am at the Palace of the Late Village Head, 93 Ekpri Nsukara Offot Road, Uyo.
