... Calls For Support To Deliver On ARISE Agenda

The new Commissioner in the Ministry of Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, Comrade Ini Ememobong, has assumed duties with a call on staff to brace themselves to help translate Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda into reality.
Speaking during a welcome meeting with the management and staff in the Ministry’s Conference Hall on Tuesday, February 25, Comrade Ememobong told the staff that regular review meetings will be held to evaluate activities and ensure progress with the ministry’s mandate in line with the governor’s expectations.
“By the first quarter, we should be able to exceed our expectations. We must set higher standards for ourselves than those set by the governor. By doing so, we can achieve the desired goals.”
To underscore his determination to ensure that the ministry works optimally, Comrade Ememobong intimated that he would not mind visiting different units regularly to familiarise himself with their challenges and peculiarities and ensure that the work environment is suitable for greater positive contributions by the staff.
Emphasising the need for loyalty and accountability, the Commissioner stated that “we hold loyalty first to God, second, the State and thirdly to the Governor, but we hold accountability in reverse order, first to the Governor, second to the State and third to individuals.”
Thanking Governor Umo Eno for reappointing him to the State Executive Council to implement his ARISE Agenda in the Ministry of Special Duties and Ibom Deep Seaport, he pledged to do his utmost to ensure success.
While acknowledging receipt of a handing-over note from the Permanent Secretary, the commissioner promised to address the challenges faced by the ministry.
Comrade Ememobong, who thanked the Permanent Secretary and staff for the warm welcome, promised to operate an open and inclusive leadership, where anybody with tangible ideas can approach him, unrestricted.
Setting the tone for the meeting, the Permanent Secretary, Engr. Udosen Udoh thanked God for making it possible for the Ministry to survive eight months without the complement of a Commissioner. He lauded Governor Eno for his support of the Ministry throughout the period.
