Engr Coffie Condoles Nigerian Air Force, Families Of NAF Plane Crash Victims.

The 2023 Governorship candidate of Accord Party in Akwa Ibom State, Engr. Emem Coffie has expressed deep-seated pain over the crash of a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft near a naval base in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria.

Reports indicate that all 32 people on board were feared dead after a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft crashed during a routine support mission from Benin City to Lagos on Monday, October 5, 2026. Air traffic controllers reportedly lost contact with the aircraft at approximately 9:13 a.m.

However, Engr Coffie, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in a press statement made available to journalists said he is deeply saddened by the very unfortunate incident.

According to him, “I am deeply saddened by the crash of a Nigerian Air Force ATR-42 aircraft near a naval base in Ondo State, South-West Nigeria, today. Sadly, the authorities have reported no survivors among the 32 persons on board.”

Engr Coffie, who described the tragedy that befellen Personnel of Air force as a national disaster, maintained that they sacrificed so much for security, unity and peaceful coexistence of the nation.

“The news of their painful demise is very devastating, they sacrificed so much for the unity of our country, my heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and the immediate families of these fallen Heroes.”

Engr Coffie prayed the Almighty God to give the souls of the departed soldiers, peaceful repose in his bossom and the families the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

He further highlighted, “On behalf of my family and teeming supporters, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Nigerian Air Force and the families of the fallen Heroes. May God intervene and give them strength and succour to overome this challenging period.”

He stressed further that a PDP led Government in such times would go several miles to palliate the families of the deceased, calling on the government of the day to show adequate empathy and compensation to the families of the deceased.

“I join millions of Nigerians to pray God to keep away such tragedies from recurring again in our national life. I also appeal to all relevant authorities to investigate the immediate and remote causes of the mishap to nip the reoccurrence in the bud.”
