Elated by the giant strides recorded by Governor Udom Emmanuel’s administration, the Stakeholders and Opinion leaders from Etim Ekpo local government area have expressed deep appreciation to the State Governor for the massive infrastructural renaissance in the state since the assumption of office in 2015.
In the same vein, the stakeholders have expressed happiness with the governor for the enabling environment accorded their son the Executive Chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area Rt. Hon. Ime Paul Afia who has made significant progress in steering the affairs of the Council.
The Forum in a communiqué endorsed by the Chairman Hon Paul Afia, former Chairman Hon Udeme Eduo, past council chairmen, councillors and opinion leaders and made available to journalists in Uyo also appreciates the Chairman of Council for the frantic efforts made in sustenance of peace in the three wards (8, 9 & 10) in particular and the entire Local Government Area in general.
According to the stakeholders, “We have equally resolved to give total support to all the PDP Candidates in the forthcoming general elections viz; His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar for President, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno for Governor, Hon. Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem for Senate, Hon. Elder Aniekan Umanah for House of Representatives and Hon. Elder Mfon Frank Idung for State House of Assembly”.
The Stakeholders condemn in strong terms the activities of hoodlums for the vandalization of public utilities in the area especially the electrical installations in the communities and warned the hoodlums to stay away from the community or meet their waterloo.

While appreciating the State Government efforts to replace the damaged equipment, the Stakeholders passionately draw the attention of the relevant Ministries and Agencies in charge of Road Construction and Maintenance (Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, FERMA and AKROIMA) to the deplorable conditions of Ekparakwa – Iwukem – Azumini road and Iwukem – Utu Etim Ekpo-Afaha Obong Road and requested for intervention to checkmate further deaths and robberies/harassment of road users
The Stakeholders appeal to the Youths to shun violence and criminal activities and allow the prevailing peace to reign for development to thrive in the communities.
Present at the Stakeholders meeting were the Executive Chairman of Etim Ekpo Rt. Hon. Ime Afia, Former Chairmen, Present and Former Councillors from the three Wards, serving and Former Supervisors from the three Wards, Prominent Citizens and political stakeholders from the three Wards, Women and Youth Leader were also represented.
