Funeral Rites Of Late PDP Chairman, Udo Ekpenyong Commence
The funeral rites of Late Obong Udo Ekpenyong, Akwa Ibom chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has been announced.
A joint statement by the chairman of the Central Planning Committee, Barr. Emmanuel Enoidem and Dr. Frank Ekpenyong, eldest son of the deceased, made available to newsmen, Wednesday, said the remains of the late political guru would be committed to mother-earth, Friday, March 26, 2021 at his country home, in Ikot Oku Usung, Ukanafun Local Government Area.
The statement said the funeral would be conducted by the Delightful Christian Church Int’l, by 10 am.

It said that mourning house opens on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at his country home, in Ikot Oku Usung, while visitation by friends, in-laws, groups and institutions would take place between Sunday, March 21, 2021 and Wednesday, March 24, 2021. A thanksgiving service would be conducted on Sunday, March 27, 2021 at the Delightful Christian Church Int’l, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan Boulevard, Uyo.
Until his death, the late Ekpenyong had been commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, Special Adviser to the Governor on Political & Legislative Affairs, former Chairman, Ukanafun Local Government Area and one-time Acting State Secretary of the PDP.
He had also served as a National Ex-officio Member and Member of the National Executive Council (NEC) of our great Party; State Ex-officio Member and had at various times served in the public service as a teacher/tutor and had a stint in the private sector both as sales and production manager.
