Gov. Eno, Akpabio Admonish Newly-wed Prince Monday Uko, Wife On Building Successful Marriage
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has described marriage as a call for humans to be more responsible, impactful, and exemplary in life.
This was contained in the remarks made during the wedding reception of Prince Monday and Arch. Idong-ama Uko at Monty Suites, Uyo.
Governor Eno commended the groom’s father, Sir Monday Uko, a former Dean of the College of Commissioners, for establishing an enviable legacy and urged the couple to continue to work hard in their marriage and endeavour to sustain the family legacy.

He enjoined the couple to know that marriage is forever and requires patience, tolerance, love, and understanding, and that none of them should ever contemplate dissolution of the marriage unless they would be able to gather the same crowd of witnesses once again to do that.
He extolled Sir Monday Uko for his sterling qualities and mentorship for the younger generation, stressing that the attendance of dignitaries at the event was at the instance of their parents, who have made good names for themselves, and urged them to emulate and sustain their legacies.

He congratulated the couple on their successful marriage ceremony and advised them to nurture and sustain the union.
“You have a duty to carry on your parents’ legacy. Always be in unity and oneness of purpose to achieve your goals in life together. May God bless your union and grant you sufficient grace for a joyful marital life,” he declared.
Also speaking, the President of the 10th Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, charged the couple, saying, “Now that you are married, old things have passed away. Love and endure each other. Work for each other’s happiness and peace for the success of your marriage.”
Senator Akpabio pronounced blessings on the couple, stressing, “Your marriage shall be fruitful, peaceful, and filled with happiness.”
He noted with excitement that the groom’s father, Sir Monday Ebong Uko, “has succeeded not only in life as a good politician or good businessman but also as a good family man.”
The wedding reception of alluring class and colour was graced by the State Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; members of the State Executive Council; political stalwarts; captains of industry; and personalities from across Nigeria.
