Gov Eno Commends Unity Of Citizens, Commitment To Growth

...As State Rounds Off 3-day Prayer Summit

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has commended the citizens of the state for their deep sense of unity, commitment, and sacrifice towards meaningful growth and progress.

The governor gave the commendation on the last day of a 3-day prayer summit held at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, to usher his administration into its third year in office.

“For coming out in good numbers for us to gather here for three days as a State to pray and hand over to God the commencement of the affairs of our third year in office, I am most grateful. Thank you.

“This is indeed the spirit of a united Akwa Ibom, which we have greatly utilised to pray for the peace and prosperity of our state. What we mostly needed in our state is peace, and peace can only happen where there is unity – unity of purpose.

“For us in government, we will continue to stay united to pursue an excellent accomplishment of the ARISE Agenda. That is what is most important.

“We have received all the prayers and all the prophetic words that God has declared upon our State that, by His grace, nations will come to the brightness of the light of Akwa Ibom State.”

The Governor assured that the State will continue to pray and work for a conducive and peaceful environment for nations to come, as, according to him, nations would only go where there is peace and comfort.

He urged Akwa Ibomites to continue to live and work in peace and unity despite political differences.

“Let us not take God’s blessings in this part of the country for granted. Let us continue to pray for peace in our land and work in unity for the good of our people and our State.

“Let us respect each other’s opinions. Let us ensure that our State grows positively as a united Akwa Ibom where great things take place for others to learn from,” he said.

According to the Governor, it is not always necessary that one must work in opposition.

“Let us all toe the path of our alignment with the government in power for our good, rather than being outside the government as opposition, to our detriment.

“I strongly pray and believe that at the end of it all, we would all thank God that our common decision to move the State forward was truly worthwhile and rewarding.

Preaching on the theme “Nations will come to your light, and Kings to the brightness of your dawn,” drawn from Isaiah 60:3, Apostle (Dr.) Emmanuel Nuhu Kure of Throneroom Trust Ministry, Kafanchan, Kaduna State, admonished Christians and people of the State to stand firm with the Lord to realise and sustain the light and glory of God upon the State.

Apostle Kure, who made a series of prophetic declarations for the State, prayed, blessed, and pronounced the commencement of the third year in office of Governor Umo Eno.

Earlier in his opening charge on the topic: “Understanding the light and brightness that attract nations and kings to us” culled from the Bible book of Matthew 5:1-16, Rev. Emmanuel Iniama, General Overseer of Achievers Assembly, also known as Precious Faith International Church, Eket, identified character as a major factor in shaping the actions and affairs of men.

Rev. Iniama admonished the people to exhibit good character and to treat, particularly, their subordinates, with respect and love, as character deficit is worse than budget deficit, stressing that the rise or fall of a man is traceable to his character.

The occasion, which featured sessions of praise, worship, choir renditions, song ministrations, and intercessory prayers, was graced by members of the State Executive Council, the clergy, the political class, dignitaries, and Christian faithful within and outside the State.
