Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, has reaffirmed the passionate commitment of Governor Umo Eno towards securing a brighter future for children and youths in the State.
She gave the assurance on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, while receiving members of the Akwa Ibom Young Professionals Initiative on a courtesy visit at Government House, Uyo.
Expressing delight at the visit, Senator Eyakenyi outlined key interventions of the present administration across sectors, particularly in education, security and healthcare, aimed at safeguarding the future of the younger generation.
She referenced the state of emergency declared in the health sector, saying it will lead to further provision of modern facilities and recruitment of medical personnel to improve healthcare delivery and reduce the mortality rate.
Senator Eyakenyi also cited the prioritisation of security as one of the measures adopted by the state government towards ensuring Akwa Ibom children enjoy a bright future.
“The Governor is seriously interested in your future and he is doing everything to secure you and your parents so that you can enjoy it in peace.
“Akwa Ibom has been identified as the most peaceful and secure State in the country, and with reinforced security, we can continue to attract investors. The launch of the Security Trust Fund today further demonstrates the government’s commitment to sustaining peace and security in our State.,” the Deputy Governor emphasised.

“As an educationist, I feel fulfilled seeing the stars being raised today. Education is the key that has brought me this far, and I encourage you to take it seriously so you can excel in your chosen fields. The Governor is building model schools for you and he’s working hard to make the school system suitable to enable you to compete with your peers all over the World. With what I am seeing today, I am assured that Akwa Ibom State will always have great leaders in the future.

Describing Senator Eyakenyi as an inspiration for both girls and boys in Akwa Ibom and beyond, she applauded her dedication and passion for education which, she noted, has paved the way for future generations of female leaders.

She pledged, on behalf of the group, not to disappoint the Governor or his Deputy.
