... As State Holds Monthly Covenant Service

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has stated that the three-day statewide crusade, beginning Thursday, February 8, to Saturday, February 10, 2024, will have a free medical outreach as one of its major components.

The Governor made this known while speaking at the February edition of the Government House Covenant Service held at the Banquet Hall, Uyo.

He noted that the medical outreach will begin at 9:00 a.m. until noon, while the crusade proper will begin from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. daily at Unity Park, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo.

Governor Eno, who is a pastor by calling, said that as a Christian state, it was necessary to gather as a people in acknowledgement of the supreme God in praise and worship while rededicating the state to God.

He said the programme, which is organised by the State Chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Fathers in Faith for Good Governance, will feature prominent pastors across the country, including Bishop (Dr.) Emma Isong, Prophet Isa El-Buba, Apostle Lawrence Achidume, and Pastor Jerry Eze.

He urged Akwa Ibomites to be part of the crusade as well as take advantage of the free medical outreach.

The governor appreciated everyone for taking part in the covenant service and prayed that, through their prayers, God would continue to bless the state and its citizens.

Earlier in his message on the theme “Divine Enlargement,” Rev. (Dr.) Ndueso Ekwere urged Christians to always remain humble to receive divine enlargement, which he said is an increase in one’s life, business, and other affairs.

Taking his text from Psalms 18:36, he enumerated the principles of divine enlargement to include acknowledgement of one’s state of affairs, willingness to make a change, and insistence and reliance on God.

The covenant service, which featured praises, worship, and choir renditions, climaxed with a special birthday song in honour of Ambassador Assam Assam SAN, who served as the Director-General of the Umo Eno-Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Organisation in the 2023 gubernatorial elections.
