Gov. Eno Visits, Condoles With Prophet Mbuk Over Wife’s Demise

... You're Indeed A Compassionate Father - Mbuk

Governor Umo Eno has commiserated with the founding pastor of Victorious Family International Worship Centre, Prophet Williams Mbuk, over the demise of his wife, Pastor (Mrs) Emem Mbuk.

The governor extended his condolences when he visited the family in Eket shortly after attending the combined service of the All Nations Christian Ministry International on Sunday, July 6, 2025.

He described the demise as a sad and very difficult occurrence, stating, “I am here today, with a full understanding of what you would be going through. It is one of the worst things that can happen to a man. I have been there, and I understand.

“Through it all, you are a man of God, and I can tell you to draw strength from the scriptures. There’s a vacuum, and it is only God and the Holy Spirit that can comfort you.

“I condole with you on behalf of the government and people of Akwa Ibom State, you have been a strong pillar around us. May all the people around you and the memory she has left behind help comfort you,” he said.

In his remark, Prophet Mbuk appreciated the Governor for his visit, and especially for his unexpected, timely intervention to save her life.

He said the loss has been devastating, but noted that the Governor’s visit would make a difference.

According to him, “I am still trying to come out of the shock. It is a very difficult one for me, but my consolation is that there is no more pain where she is.

“I thank you so much for this honour of coming around. Truly, I wasn’t expecting this. On the day it happened, I was not even in Eket; I was outside the country and just flew in.

“Your Excellency, you have earned more of my respect because when they told me they needed oxygen, I was confused and didn’t know who to talk to, especially given that it coincided with a State event, the day of your official progressive movement to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“I summoned the courage to send you a message for assistance, and I was surprised that in less than 10 minutes, despite the array of VIPs in the stadium, including the Vice President, you responded and put a team together to assist.

“Till eternity, you have earned more of my respect. That amid such an event, and all the guests in the State, you still had time to respond to me.

“It shows I have not just a Governor, but an elder brother. I thank you. She has gone, but her legacy lives on,” he added.

The high point of the solemn visit was a prayer by Governor Eno for the family and for the departed.
