In a major move aimed at strengthening the oil and gas sector and attracting strategic investments, Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has approved office accommodation for the establishment of a SEPLAT Energy office in the state.

The approval was granted during a courtesy visit to the Governor on Friday, June 6, by the Honourable Minister of State for Gas, Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, and the Executive Vice President (Upstream), NNPC Limited, Mr. Obong Ntia, at Government House, Uyo.

Speaking at the meeting, Governor Eno commended SEPLAT (formerly ExxonMobil) for its commitment to deepening investment in Akwa Ibom’s energy sector. He emphasized that the state remains focused on building the infrastructure needed to attract and sustain meaningful investments.

The Governor also expressed gratitude to former Governor Udom Emmanuel for his foresight in building the iconic 21-storey Udom Emmanuel Towers, which today serves as a hub for multinational corporations, including the upcoming SEPLAT presence.

“As we continue to build critical infrastructure, Nigeria and the global investment community will increasingly look to Akwa Ibom,” the Governor said.

Governor Eno further applauded the role of the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria in expanding access and value within the gas sector, and reiterated the state’s unwavering commitment to federal partnerships that drive economic development.
