Gov. Umo Eno Hands Over ARISE Compassionate Homes To Beneficiaries

By Kenneth Jude

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, commissioned and handed over three ARISE Compassionate Homes to the beneficiaries.

The governor said that the handover of the two-bedroom bungalow to the beneficiaries in Etinan and Mkpat Enin Local Government Areas is part of his administration’s commitment to the welfare of the people, especially the downtrodden.

Represented by the Special Adviser, Bureau of Political and Social Re-orientation, Barr. Kufre Udosen, stated that the governor is a man of compassion who is committed to making life better for the poorest of the poor through deliberate and sincere policies that cater to their needs.

While congratulating the beneficiaries for becoming house owners, he urged the beneficiaries and indeed the people to keep faith with the governor, pray for him always so that he can do more for them.

“The governor means well for the Akwa Ibom people. These Arise Homes are a demonstration of his love and compassion for the people. All we owe him is our prayers and ensuring that when the time comes, we all troop out en masse to re-elect him as governor of Akwa Ibom State,” he said.

He used the opportunity to encourage the people to take advantage of the ongoing membership registration/revalidation in the APC and the ongoing INEC continuous voter registration exercise to stand on a good stead in preparation to return the governor to office in 2027.

Giving an overview of the two-bedroom apartments in the two local governments, the Special Assistant to the governor on Humanitarian Affairs, Prince Nsikakabasi Umoekpo, noted that the houses consist of dining sets, well-equipped sitting rooms, a fan, solar-powered electricity and borehole, two beds in each of the rooms, a detached kitchen, etc.

It is worthy of note that of the 500 Arise Compassionate Homes Governor Umo Eno plans to build for the less fortunate across the 368 wards of the state before 2027, 267 of them have been completed and handed over to the beneficiaries.

Each beneficiary also received a business support grant of N500,000. This is to enable them to grow their business and maintain their new status.

In their separate reactions, the beneficiaries thanked the governor for wiping their tears by giving them tastefully furnished apartments of their own, praying God to bless and reward him.
