Gov. Umo Eno Splashes ₦492m Empowerment, Delivers 116 Projects In Uyo Federal Constituency

...As Leaders, Stakeholders In Uyo Adopts Him for 2027

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on Saturday, August 9, 2025, turned the Ibom Hall Grounds, Uyo, into a hub of empowerment and political solidarity as he led the Uyo Federal Constituency edition of the ARISE Town Square Meeting and Empowerment Series.

The event, which brought together stakeholders, traditional rulers, business owners, political leaders, youth, and women’s groups from Uyo, Uruan, Nsit Atai, and Ibesikpo Asutan LGAs, provided a platform for the governor to present his mid-term scorecard, receive the constituency’s NEEDS document for the 2026 People’s Budget, and unveil fresh economic support initiatives.

Reaffirming his grassroots development commitment, Governor Eno announced and disbursed ₦492 million in cash and equipment to thousands of micro-, small-, and medium-scale entrepreneurs.

Accordingly, 162 beneficiaries received vehicles, minibuses, and assorted business tools, while several business owners received ₦5 million cheques each.

In just two years, the Governor has delivered 116 projects in Uyo Federal Constituency — covering roads, healthcare, education, and tourism. He also presented a brand-new Jeep to CP Otu Ita, an Akwa Ibom-born female Commissioner of Police recently elevated in the Nigeria Police Force.

“I thank the people of Uyo Federal Constituency for their massive support. Your documented needs have been received, and I assure you they will be addressed in the 2026 People’s Budget,” Governor Eno pledged, adding that more female youths will benefit from the next phase of Ibom LED skills training.

In a unanimous political move, leaders and stakeholders in a motion moved by Rt Hon. Mark Esset and seconded by Hon. Ubong Attah and moderated by Senator Aniekan Bassey, adopted Governor Eno as the sole governorship candidate of the Federal Constituency for 2027, while also backing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s second-term bid.

Senator Aniekan Bassey, members of the State Executive Council from the constituency, and other leaders commended the Governor’s inclusive and innovative leadership, which they said is delivering sustainable development across the state.

Earlier, the four LGA Chairmen in the federal constituency, led by Dr Uwemedimo Udo of Uyo LGA, praised Gov. Eno for the people-focused projects and the appointment of indigenes of the area to key positions.

The high point was the presentation of multi-million-naira cheques, vehicles, and business equipment to beneficiaries, a clear signal of the administration’s resolve to boost economic growth and reduce poverty at the grassroots.
