HOTRICO, Mbiakong, 1975 Class Holds Golden Jubilee Anniversary

Past students of the famous Holy Trinity College, HOTRICO, Mbiakong, 1975 Class, are finalising arrangements for their Golden Jubilee Anniversary and Grand Reunion, scheduled for Friday-Sunday, June 27-29, 2025, in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The event, which is expected to bring the old boys together for the first time since their graduation from the college 50 years ago, is themed “Schooled and Educated”.
The class coordinator and chairman of the local organising committee for the half-century converge, Mr Godwin Okon, who confirmed this during a chat with journalists in Uyo, said the event will begin on Friday, 27th June, with the arrival of participants, with the main golden jubilee anniversary celebrations holding on Saturday, 28th June, 2025, at the Breakfort Hotel and Suites, House of Assembly Road, Uyo, from 4 pm.
According to Mr Okon, the Réunion night will be chaired by a retired judge of the State High Court, Sir Andrew Okon, with an old boy of the college and multi-award-winning front-line environmental activist, architect Nnimmo Bassey, as guest speaker.
Among the guests billed to grace the event are the Senator for Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Aniekan Bassey as the Very Special Guest of Honour; the member representing Uruan State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Dr Itoro Etim as Mother of the Day while the Special Advisor to the Governor on Political Affairs, Prince Godwin Ntukude, PhD will serve as Father of the Day.
Other dignitaries expected at the celebration include the chairman of Uruan Local Government Council, Surveyor Iniobong Ekpenyong, who will double as Chief Host with the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and International President of Mboho Mkparawa Ibibio, Akparawa James Edet, as well as the Commissioner for Internal Security and Waterways, General Koko Essien and friends of the Jubillarians.

Mr Okon said the event will feature an Awards presentation, an anniversary dinner and activities to reminisce about their days in the College from 1971 to 1975 under the administration of the late Mr D.J. Usanga, who served as the Post War Principal of HOTRICO.
The celebration, which according to Mr Okon, will be the first by any group of past students of HOTRICO, will be rounded off on Sunday, 29th June, 2025 with a Thanksgiving Mass at the Assembly Hall of the College by 10 am, to appreciate God’s favour and blessings upon them and keeping them alive 50 years after graduation.
He has requested all former students of Class 75, their school fathers and invited friends of the Class to grace the events on Saturday, 28th and Sunday, 29th of this month at the scheduled locations.
