As the compassionate, humble, and people-oriented Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno marks his 60th birthday anniversary on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the Chairman of the Transition Committee of Ibesikpo Asutan LGA, Hon. (Mrs.) Akon Michael Asuquo used the momentous event to celebrate with Persons Living With Disabilities, PLWD.
The chairman’s celebration was in line with the State government’s earlier directives that those wishing to celebrate Governor Eno through publication of goodwill messages in the media, should rather use such resources to provide relief materials and gift items to the less privileged and PLWD in the society.
Addressing Persons Living With Disabilities in her Ikot Abre residence in Ibesikpo Asutan, the council boss expressed gratitude to God for the life of the State Chief Executive, saying his 60 years on earth have been impactful, and are traceable to his being God-fearing, humble and dedicated.
While congratulating the Governor on his 60th birthday anniversary, she thanked the physically challenged persons for their continuous support, saying till she leaves office, she’ll not hesitate to meet with them.
“Today is world Governor Umo Eno’s day. As you know, he’s a Governor who holds the downtrodden so dear in his heart. In line with the celebration, I decided that you all come let’s celebrate our father and leader, Governor Umo Eno. He loves you and God loves you more.
“Don’t see your condition as a barrier, be in harmony and continue to support the Governor,” she said.

Responding amidst jubilations among the physically challenged persons, the President of Persons Living With Disabilities, Ibesikpo Asutan chapter, Mr. Ime Benson thanked the chairman for the rare privilege of hosting them to celebrate the birthday of our Golden Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno.
Mr Benson, while describing the Governor as a good Governor, said his administration has in no small measure, shown an unprecedented love for the physically challenged persons.
“On assumption of office, he has appointed one of us as his PA, paid school fees for Persons Living With Disabilities in higher institutions across the state.
The high point of the celebration was the cutting of the 60th birthday anniversary cake by the council Chairman on behalf of the state Chief Executive.
The Transition Vice Chairman, Hon. (Evang) Edidiong Inyang led the Prayer session for sound health, wisdom, happiness, God’s unceasing protection upon the life of the Governor and his family, and that God should grant him grace to do eight (8) years as previous governors, so that he will complete the lofty programmes he has for the state.
Flanked by the Transition Committee Chairman was during the epoch event of the Governor’s birthday Transition Secretary, Hon (Elder) Mfon Eka and Head of Service, Ibesikpo Asutan Kocal Government, Mr Godwin Duff, among other dignitaries.
