The Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ikorodu Branch, Jamin Inabiri, hosted a Ramadan lecture in memory of his late mother, Alhaja Abiodun Alimot Bada.
The event took place at Oluwakemi Aga, Ikorodu, on Saturday, March 14, 2026, bringing together community members to celebrate her legacy and reflect on the spiritual significance of the holy month.
Inabiri told journalists that he organised the lecture to honour his mother and uphold the values she instilled in him. He noted that a mother plays a crucial role in a child’s life and that her absence can deeply affect a child, especially a son.

He expressed gratitude for the impact she had on his life, particularly for instilling in him the importance of relating well with people, carrying others along, showing generosity, remaining prayerful, and maintaining optimism in life, adding that these qualities have made her memory unforgettable.
Inabiri also highlighted the importance of charity during Ramadan, explaining that even those unable to fast can share food with others to strengthen faith and community.

He pointed out that fasting brings additional benefits, including improved health and answered prayers. “Givers never lack,” he said.

Fielding questions on his message to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections, he urged citizens to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
He stated that he and the people of Ikorodu Constituency would vote for the President, describing him as the best candidate for the job and expressing confidence that Tinubu has the capacity to address the current challenges facing the country.
Delivering the Ramadan lecture on the theme, “The Moral Lessons of Surah Al-Kahf, Quran Chapter 18,” Imaam Shakirudeen Al-Aminu Jooda urged Muslims to remain steadfast in faith, patient in trials, and humble in their dealings with others.

The cleric cautioned against arrogance and excessive attachment to wealth, reminding believers that worldly possessions are temporary and should not distract them from devotion to God.
He also emphasised the need to trust divine wisdom and called on leaders to exercise authority with justice and fairness.
Also speaking, the Chairman of Ikorodu Oga Development Association (IKODASS), Alhaji Fatai Kolawole, described Ramadan as a period of forgiveness and generosity, particularly towards vulnerable members of society.
He said the holy month offers Muslims the opportunity to strengthen their spiritual lives through prayers and religious lectures while promoting respect for others and the spirit of forgiveness.
Kolawole further urged Muslims to sustain the moral discipline learned during Ramadan and avoid returning to sinful acts after the fasting period.
The highlight of the event was the distribution of food and gift items to attendees.
Distinguished guests graced the occasion, including local political representatives, community leaders, religious figures, women and youth leaders, and residents of Ikorodu.
