Jubilation as Senator Aniekan Bassey Doles Out Empowerment Support to Church

Jubilation erupted at The Apostolic Church Nigeria, Ikot Ntuen Oku Major Center as the Senator representing Uyo Senatorial District, Senator Aniekan Bassey supported the church’s empowerment program with the sum of One Million naira.

The Senator, who was the Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 G-1 Thanksgiving and Praise Rendezvous of the church on Sunday, was represented by the International Coordinator of Uyo is Ripe Movement, Elder Ndanti Ekuh.

Speaking at the event, the Senator commanded the church for setting up an empowerment programme to address members’ welfare, capacity building and other challenges.

He said it was a good and remarkable thing to know that the church, apart from building the spiritual life of members also prioritize welfare and physical well being of members, noting that the programme aligns with his empowerment and human capability building agenda for the people of Uyo Senatorial District.

Describing the event as spiritually refreshing, the lawmaker reiterated that praising God at all time is the sole duty of man to God, especially, as Christians are world over are celebrating the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

While calling on members of the church to keep faith with God and continue to pray for the success of the government from state to national level, Senator Bassey assured that he will continue to support the entire people of Uyo Senatorial District whom he is representing in the Red Chamber, stressing that the legislative seeds he planted in the past three years are now ripe for harvest, even as he promised to ensure that Uyo Senatorial District harvest and enjoy the dividends of his representation as Senator representing Uyo.

Highpoint of the event was the song competition by different Choir groups within the State capital with The Apostolic Church Choir, Four Towns Assembly emerging as the winner of the competition, bagging a star prize of of FIve Hundred Thousand naira.
