JUST IN: PDP Leaders In High-Level Meeting with INEC Over Lingering Party Issues

Top-ranking leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have converged at the national headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja for a crucial meeting aimed at addressing unresolved issues affecting the party.

Leading the PDP delegation is the Acting National Chairman of the party, His Excellency, Amb. Umar Iliya Damagum. He is joined by the Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum and Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed Abdulkadir; Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State; Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State; Governor Dauda Lawal Dare of Zamfara State; former Senate President, Senator Abubakar Bukola Saraki; Senator Abba Moro; and several other party chieftains and stakeholders.

The meeting, requested by Amb. Damagum, is taking place at the INEC Headquarters, located at Plot 436 Zambezi Crescent, Maitama, Abuja.

According to a statement by Nuru Shehu Jos, Personal Assistant to the PDP Acting National Chairman, the parley is focused on “discussing the way forward on the lingering issue regarding our great Party at hand”, although the specific nature of the issue has not yet been disclosed.

The ongoing meeting underscores the PDP’s determination to put its house in order ahead of the 2027 general elections, as internal cohesion and credible electoral processes remain pivotal for the party’s quest to return to power.
