
The Governing Council, Management and Academic Board of Maurid College of Nursing Sciences, Mbiaso, Nsit Ibom Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, has announced the institution’s 2nd matriculation ceremony, scheduled to hold on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Maurid College Sports Ground, Mbiaso.
The statement from the management of the Institution, which was made available to Journalists, said the matriculation ceremony marks a significant milestone in the academic journey of newly admitted students, as they formally take the matriculation oath and become bona fide members of the College community.
The statement further highlighted that the institution is dedicated to excellence in nursing education, professional ethics, and healthcare service delivery.
According to the statement, the event will be chaired by Comrade Ini Ememobong, PDP Interim National Publicity Secretary, Abuja, while the Special Guest of Honour will be Dr. (Mrs.) Eno Attah, Executive Secretary of the Akwa Ibom State Primary Health Care Agency.
“The Chairman of Maurid Group of Schools, Dr. Godwin Umontuen, and the Proprietress of Maurid College of Nursing Sciences, Mrs. Confidence Umontuen, will serve as hosts of the ceremony.
“Other notable dignitaries expected at the event include Pastor Efe Augustine, Spiritual Father of the Day; HRM Edidem Aniefiok Monday Akpanobong, Royal Father of the Day and Paramount Ruler of Etinan Local Government Area, alongside other distinguished guests from the educational, healthcare, traditional, and religious sectors”.
The statement by the management of the college further averred that the matriculation ceremony underscores the College’s commitment to producing competent, compassionate, and globally competitive nursing professionals capable of addressing contemporary healthcare challenges.
