Mboho Ndito Nsit Lauds Umo Eno On Achievements

... Reaffirms Support For Second Term

Mboho Ndito Nsit Worldwide, a prominent socio-cultural organisation in Akwa Ibom State, has lauded the state governor, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, for the strides he has recorded with the ARISE Agenda, his blueprint for governance in the state. They thanked the governor for what they described as “inclusive and people-oriented leadership that comes with impact, that has changed the narratives of governance in the state and given the people a sense of belonging.

They gave the commendation during the group’s general meeting, held recently at their corporate national headquarters in Uyo, which was attended by prominent sons and daughters of Nsit, including the Council of Elders National Executives and members drawn from all chapters across the state and the Diaspora.

In a practical demonstration of their appreciation for the governor and resolve to stand with him till 2032, the group passed a vote of confidence on the governor, urging him to continue with the good works he is doing.

They listed the areas of outstanding performance to include rapid growth of the state’s economy, education, health, infrastructure and tourism that have resulted in a remarkable upsurge in the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR). Other key areas of performance by the governor were security, agriculture, political inclusion and reconciliatory strategies that have bonded political interests in the state under the governor’s ideology of “Akwa Ibom United”, a pan-Akwa Ibom symbol of unity and collective growth.

In a statement jointly signed by its international president, Otuekong Ndueso Jackson, and acting secretary-general, Hon Wellyns Nteyoho, the group pledged its unalloyed loyalty and unanimously resolved to support the governor in his second-term bid in 2027.

The group, however, condemned in strong terms what it called “the emerging campaigns of mudslinging, character assassination and conspiracy theories” now trending on social media, describing them as needless distractions that can affect the governor’s focus and determination to do more.

“As a viable community-based entity and indispensable partner in progress with the government in community peace and developments, we observed with utter dismay and frowned in entirety at the ‘mud-slinging’ campaigns and attitudes spewed in the social media by certain individuals against our amiable son and governor, Pastor Umo Eno.

“We appeal to those perpetrating and indulging in these unwholesome acts of disrespect to the governor to retrace their steps, think positively and embrace the path of peace which the governor is known for.”

The organisation accordingly implored all Akwa Ibomites to continue to support the governor in view of the lofty programmes under the ARISE Agenda. They also commended traditional rulers and political stakeholders across the state for their existing unwavering support for the governor.

“Finally, as indispensable partners in progress with the government in community peace and developments, we are strategically poised to support the government to take the state to the next level of progress,” the statement added.
