The Eduo Family and Genealogy of Service to the Church and Humanity.

The patriarch of the Eduo family, late Elder Wilson Eduo, a disciplinarian, academia and Community leader died at the ripe age of 93 after an eventful and godly life on earth. He dedicated his entire life to the service of God and humanity. He was also dedicated to the grooming of young people as a school teacher and later principal of various institutions before his retirement. Late Elder Wilson Eduo’s retirement from active service was also dedicated to the service of God in various capacities in his vine yard until the twilight of his earthly journey.

Blessed with extraordinary health, wisdom and strength in his life time, Elder Wilson Eduo was the chairman of the centenary planning committee of the church and has made tremendous contributions in preparation of the event before his creator called him for higher Ecclesiastes duties in paradise.

However, his peaceful demise and triumphant burial which was graced by the high and mighty in the society, entrusted the leadership of the family and all his ecclesiastical responsibilities on the shoulders of his scion and worthy son, Rt. Hon. Udeme Eduo, Executive Chairman, Etim Ekpo Local Government Area.

Rt. Hon. Udeme Eduo who has also dedicated his active years to the service of humanity and God had earlier served as Vice Chairman and Transition Chairman of Etim Ekpo Local Government Area.

Determined to conclude the job abdicated at his late father’s demise, Udeme is now championing the realisation of the centenary celebration of Qua Iboe Church, Udianga Enem, Ikot Udobong Superintendency, Etim Ekpo Council Area with unparalleled zeal and vigour. To realize the dream and also galvanize support for the building of the development centre project and purchasing of a brand new bus for the church, he has invited his friends and supporters including all government appointees, contractors, philanthropists and lovers of God across the state to join him in raising funds for the church development center and a new bus for spreading the word of God across the state and beyond.

The Etim Ekpo Council Chairman, according to available records, has also invested enormously in the Lord’s Vineyard and church development till date. When Crystal Express visited Qua Iboe Church, Udianga Enem recently, we discovered that the once very old church building is now wearing a new look courtesy of the benevolence of the Council Chairman.

A closer look reveals comprehensive turn around in all civil works in the building with tiling, fencing, painting and landscaping going on simultaneously to the admiration of worshippers and members.

The centenary church once seated in an open field now has a good perimeter fence with a befitting gate to ensure security. To further enhance the aesthetics, the entire church building has been electrified with unique lighting system and the structure wearing beautiful paintings to compliment its new status.

Speaking with Crystal Express, Rt. Hon. Udeme Eduo recalled the contributions made by his late father in the service of God at various times with the most recent being the chairmanship of the Centenary celebration of the church before his exit and vowed to redouble his efforts in ensuring that the once local church becomes an ultra modern edifice as seen in big cities across the country.

He promised to continue serving God not only in spirit and truth but with resources provided for him by God. “I came from a family that puts God first in all our activities and my late father enjoyed God’s benevolence through long life and good health. I pray to surpass him in every grace he enjoyed from God and also to remain committed in all activities in the Vine yard”.

On the launching of the development centre and brand new bus, Hon. Eduo appealed to his friends and colleauges in government, public and private sectors including supporters to come forward and join him in raising funds for God’s work and key into God’s abundant blessings.

He maintained that God works through men on earth and urges all Christians and lovers of God to take advantage of the opportunity provided by the Centenary Celebration to tap into God’s love, grace and provisions for their family.

Eduo noted that Etim Ekpo Local Government Area has been rededicated to God who used Governor Udom Emmanuel to bring back peace and stability to the area after a long period of security challenges stressing that the area now belongs to God, who is in charge of her affairs.

According to him, “We now observe Solemn Assembly and Ceaseless prayers monthly for the peace and progress of Etim Ekpo and her people. In the same vein, I urge all indigenes of Etim Ekpo to create time daily from their busy schedules and pray for the rapid development of the area”.

The Council boss also expressed gratitude to the council legislature and members of his executive for the cordial working relationship and for putting the interest of the council area far above parochial interest.

He was also full of praises for the local government stakeholders and leading lights of Etim ekpo especially the National Legal Adviser of PDP, Bar. Emmanuel Enoidem whom he described as a shining light and supporter of good governance and development in the area and across the state
