Newly Certificated Village Head Of Ukpom Ikot Ekem Calls For Team Work Among Subjects

The newly certificated village head of Ukpom Ikot Ekem in Ikono Local Government Area has appealed to all his subjects to sink their personal and political differences, imbibe the spirit of teamwork and assist in formulating better ideas to reposition the village.

Eteidung Johnson Bassey Akpan made the passionate appeal in his hometown during a town hall meeting convened at his instance immediately after receiving a certificate of recognition as a village head from the state government.

He said the meeting was imperative to brainstorm on the way forward for the village, which he believes would bring development to the village.

The village head, who spoke of the lack of essential amenities in the village, advised his subjects to see beyond the nose and key into Governor Umo Bassey Eno’s “Arise Agenda” in all ramifications to enable them to benefit from his well-articulated program and policies.

Describing Gov Eno as a versatile administrator whose diverse knowledge in the promotion of peace and tranquillity in various spheres with creative concepts, Eteidung Akpan express gratitude to the governor for various strategies he has adopted so far which have gone a long way to alleviate the suffering of the people in the state.

While using the opportunity to appeal to Gov Eno to come for their rescue towards the construction of the major roads from Ukpom Anwana- Ukpom Ikot Ekem in Ikono LGA linking Itak Ikot Udo in Ikot Ekpene LGA,

Eteidung Johnson Bassey Akpan said the deplorable condition of the road has completely cut them off from disposing their farm product thereby cause hardship to the people at the grassroots. He pledged their unalloyed support and loyalty to Gov Eno to succeed.

Speaking at the town hall meeting, the chairman of Ukpom Ikot Ekem Village Council Mr Inemesit John Obot commended Gov Eno for appreciating the contribution of royal fathers to the growth of the state as well as the respect he has for traditional rulers.

Mr Obot particularly thanked Gov Umo Eno, presenting a certificate of recognition to their village head Eteidung Johnson Bassey Akpan through the paramount ruler of Ikono LGA HRM Edidem Etim Nana Itang.

He promised to cooperate with their village head as well as the state government to enable them to benefit from the well-packaged Arise Agenda of Gov Eno for the betterment of their people.
