The All Progressives Congress (APC) Chapter Congress in Nsit Atai Local Government Area was on Saturday, February 21, 2026, successfully conducted at the party secretariat, Odot, in a peaceful, orderly and well-coordinated atmosphere, with party faithful turning out in large numbers to witness the exercise.
The congress, which was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies, followed the party’s approved guidelines and produced a new chapter executive through a consensus arrangement, reflecting unity, cooperation and a shared commitment to the continued growth of the APC in the area.
At the end of the exercise, Elder Etim Mfon emerged as Chapter Chairman. Other officials elected include Obongawan Grace Mfon Sunday as Woman Leader, Mr Mathias Akpan as Youth Leader, Mr Samuel Ibanga as Secretary and Mr Sunday Etim as Treasurer.

In his address, the Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, disclosed that 20 out of the 27 executive members were returned, while seven new persons were integrated into the leadership to strengthen inclusiveness and further consolidate the party’s structure.
He charged the newly elected executives to discharge their responsibilities diligently and work assiduously for the victory of the party’s candidates, particularly the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected Chapter Chairman, Elder Etim Mfon, expressed profound appreciation to party leaders, stakeholders and members for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to work tirelessly for the progress of the APC in Nsit Atai and to ensure total victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.

Elder Mfon assured that his leadership would be inclusive, promising to carry all party faithful along, strengthen internal unity and build a formidable structure that would deliver the President, the Governor and all candidates of the party in 2027.
The congress was witnessed by key stakeholders, including the Member representing Uyo Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Elder Mark Esset, the Member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Hon. Prince Aniefiok Attah; the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Emem Ibanga; and the outgoing Chapter Chairman, Hon. Ntiaobong Essien, alongside other party leaders and faithful.
Declaring the results, the Returning Officer, Mr Solomon Essien, described the exercise as peaceful, transparent and credible, and subsequently returned Elder Etim Mfon as the duly elected Chapter Chairman of the APC in Nsit Atai.
The event ended with goodwill messages and a renewed commitment by members to work together to strengthen the party ahead of future political engagements.
