Nsit Atai Chairman Inaugurated As Arise With Renewed Hope Coordinator

Reaffirms Support For President Tinubu, Gov Umo Eno

The Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area, Hon. Prince Anthony Nyong, has been inaugurated as the Nsit Atai Chapter Coordinator of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, with a resounding call for total grassroots mobilisation in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR; Governor Umo Eno; and all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The well-attended ceremony, held at the Otuekong Raphael Bassey Unity Hall, Odot, on Saturday, February 28, 2026, marked the formal inauguration of the 23-member Local Government Executive Committee and the 36-member Advisory Council of the initiative.

In his acceptance speech, Hon. Nyong expressed appreciation to Governor Umo Eno and the International President of the group, Engr. Uwem Okoko, for the confidence reposed in him to coordinate the initiative in Nsit Atai.

Prince Nyong described the appointment as a call to service and pledged to work in synergy with all political stakeholders, party faithful and grassroots structures to deliver an overwhelming victory for the APC in 2027.

The Chairman commended Governor Eno for his impactful and people-oriented projects in Nsit Atai, particularly the recent award of a contract for the construction of the Ikot Asua–Odot Road, noting that the project has generated excitement among the people as it provides direct access to the council headquarters and will boost economic activities in the area.

He reaffirmed that the numerous interventions of the Governor across critical sectors such as health, education and humanitarianism have further cemented Nsit Atai’s total support for his administration.

While assuring that the newly inaugurated structure would immediately commence Ward and Unit mobilisation, Hon. Nyong maintained that the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative would serve as a formidable platform for strengthening the Arise Agenda in Akwa Ibom State and the Renewed Hope Agenda at the national level.

Performing the inauguration, the International President of the initiative, Engr. Uwem Okoko described the formal take-off of the organisation in Nsit Atai as a clear demonstration of the people’s collective resolve to sustain the developmental strides of Governor Umo Eno and the national reforms of President Tinubu.

Engr Okoko charged members of the executive and advisory councils to immediately roll out comprehensive grassroots engagement strategies across wards and polling units.

In his keynote address, the International Coordinator of the group, Sir Udo Kierian Akpan, stated that the mandate of the initiative is to ensure the continuity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Umo Eno, Senate President Godswill Akpabio and other APC candidates in future elections, stressing that the responsibility begins with effective mobilisation at the local government level.

Goodwill messages were delivered by prominent stakeholders, including the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Princess Emem Ibanga; Member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency, Hon. Aniefiok Attah; CEO of Eminence Oil and Gas, Sir Emmanuel Okon; the Member representing Uyo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Mark Esset, who chairs the advisory council; and Obonguwana Iniobong Obot, Director of the Directorate of Research and Documentation of the group. They unanimously commended Gov. Eno for his inclusive and impactful leadership and pledged to mobilise for his re-election.

They highlighted several landmark projects attracted to the area through the collaborative efforts of the state and federal governments, including the 14.22 km Odot–Ikot Ubo Road, the Nsit Atai–Okobo–Airport Road, the Youth-Friendly Centre, a functional health centre, the remodelled Primary School at Ikot Akpabio and the Compassionate Homes, describing Governor Umo Eno as a true friend of Nsit Atai.

The event climaxed with a collective endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno for a second term in office, as party faithful and supporters pledged intensified mobilisation across the wards using the newly inaugurated structures of the initiative.
