Nsit Atai Leaders Condole With Family Of Late Maj Gen Edet Akpan

Nsit Atai political leaders have paid a condolence visit to the family of the Late Major General Edet Akpan (Rtd.) in his country home, Iwok Obio Aduang, Nsit Atai LGA.

The team which was led by the political leader of the area, who is also the Commissioner for Housing, Otuekong Raphael Bassey had in attendance Rt. Hon. (Elder) Mark Esset, representing Nsit Atai State Constituency in Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly; the Vice Chairman of Council, Hon. Idorenyin Inyang; Zonal officer of the PDP, Mr. M.C. Akpan; Deputy Chapter Chairman of the PDP, Obong Donatus Effiong and the Chairman of the Youth Council, Mr. Eyo Okon.

Addressing the bereaved family, Elder Mark Esset described the deceased as a revered senior citizen, a national asset and pride of the local government area, who brought and fought so hard to plant the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the area while ensuring development and good governance.

In his words, Otuekong Raphael Bassey eulogized the Late Gen. Akpan as a true statesman, father, mentor and torch bearer, who accommodates all regardless of background or affiliations.

Responding, the son of the deceased and chief mourner, Mr. Victor Akpan thanked the leaders for identifying and condoling with the Akpan’s family in their period of grief.

Mr. Akpan poured encomiums on the political leaders for striving to stabilize the area and upholding the legacies of his late father.

He extended his appreciation to Elder Esset for his effective and robust representation of the area and prayed God to continually guide and give them the direction to lead the area.

Similarly, Hon. Elder Lawrence Udosen joined the bereaved family to sue for peace and harmony in the area.

Other members of the delegation were the immediate past chapter chairman, Mr. Chrysancthus Okon, his erstwhile deputy, Obong Cyril Ibanga, SAs to the Governor led by Mr. Joseph Okon, ward chairmen and exco members as well as past and serving political office holders.
