The Executive Chairman of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area, Hon. Alfred Charles, has announced the renovation of the Legislative Chambers and the upgrading of an ICT/CBT Centre, describing them as part of his administration’s developmental strides.

Hon. Charles made this known on September 10, when a team of journalists visited him at his office at the Council Secretariat, where he highlighted key projects executed since assuming office.

At the ICT/CBT Centre, the chairman disclosed that the hall has been fully upgraded and is being expanded with 90 new laptops to meet the 250-unit requirement of examination bodies such as JAMB and WAEC.

“So far, we are currently training 30 people in Microsoft certification in partnership with ATES Enterprise. The ICT centre is powered by a 30 kVA solar system, and the solar facility will also extend to other offices in need of power within the council. We also have a CCTV control room that monitors not only the ICT centre but the entire premises,” he added.

On healthcare, Hon. Inoyo revealed that over 1000 residents benefited from the last medical outreach organised by the council, with more than 300 surgeries successfully carried out. He promised that the outreach will become an annual program throughout his tenure, stressing that the vision is to cater to the most vulnerable at the grassroots, regardless of background.
