Odudoh Empowers 500 Constituents: Distributes N1M Grants To 100 Entrepreneurs

In a bid to boost development and improve the lives of his constituents, Rt. Hon. Uduak Odudoh, member representing Ikot Abasi/Mkpat Enin/Eastern Obolo Federal Constituency, has empowered over 500 constituents, including 100 business owners who received N1 million cash grants each.

The empowerment programme, featuring scholarship awards, N500,000 grants, and equipment support to boost human capital development in the federal constituency, was held in Ikot Abasi on Friday, June 27, 2025.

Speaking at the event, Uduak Odudo said a total of 264 individuals have benefitted from the cash support, with 100 recipients receiving N1 million each, 64 receiving N500,000 each, and 100 students receiving N100,000 each, totaling N142 million in cash assistance.

While assuring his constituents that the next two years will be better, he disclosed that the cumulative value of the items and cash distributed amounted to ₦505.74 million.

Speaking further, Odudo charged beneficiaries to maximize the resources provided, while reaffirming his dedication to empowerment programs that align with the State Governor’s ARISE Agenda.

The event also featured the distribution of various income-generating assets, such as cars, minibuses, motorcycles, sewing machines, barbing kits, makeup boxes, cargo tricycles, fishing gear, outboard engines, deep freezers, lawn mowers, vulcanizing machines, and hair dryers, to support entrepreneurship and economic growth.

Notable dignitaries, including the State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno,PhD, represented by Barr. Kufre Udosen, Special Adviser on Political Affairs and Social Re-Orientation; Rep. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, represented by Rep. Baraje Kure; and Hon. Imeh Essien, Chairman of Ikot Abasi Local Government Area, commended Uduak Odudo for his impactful service to the constituency and urged constituents to remain steadfast in their support for him.

During Press briefing with Journalists on Thursday, Odudoh highlighted his legislative achievements, including sponsoring 8 Bills and 9 Motions, and drawing attention to 4 Public Petitions during the plenary.

The federal lawmaker also emphasized that he has facilitated numerous life-touching projects across every political clan in the federal constituency, including education, healthcare, rural development and infrastructure upgrade.

According to him, in the education sector, notable projects included renovations of Assembly halls and classroom blocks at Ibiaku Clan Community Secondary School, renovation of Examination Halls and Administrative Blocks at Regina Coeli College, and construction of a 300-capacity multipurpose hall, Laboratory Block, ICT Centre, and solar-powered borehole at Comprehensive Secondary School, Ikot Ubo Akama.

Other initiatives entailed construction of classroom blocks at Migrant Secondary School, Emere-Oke Kingdom, renovation of Library and Administrative Blocks at Methodist Secondary School, Ete, provision of JAMB registration forms to 300 candidates, and award of scholarships to 300 indigent students in tertiary institutions.

In healthcare, achievements highlighted two editions of free medical outreach programmes, which recorded successful surgeries, 2500 outpatient consultations, 2000 glasses distribution, and dental and subspecialty surgeries.

Additional projects included renovation of doctors’ quarters and drilling of solar-powered boreholes in health centers, installation of solar-powered streetlights at General Hospital, Ikot Abasi, and distribution of hospital equipment to selected hospitals in Ikot Abasi, Mkpat Enin, and Eastern Obolo Local Government Areas.

Hon. Odudoh also underscored his efforts in facilitating projects and initiatives in key areas such as human capital development, agriculture, humanitarian services, and entrepreneurship, among others.
