A socio-cultural organisation of Offot Ukwa People Worldwide, the Offot Ukwa General Assembly has felicitated with the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Christopher N. Ekong, on the occasion of his birthday today, October 25, 2026.
In a birthday message signed by its Director General, Mr. Austin Utuk, the socio-cultural organization described Prof. Ekong as an illustrious son, a cerebral academic and distinguished Professor of Economics.
The Assembly said it is immensely proud of the outstanding milestones and transformational leadership of Prof. Ekong since assuming the mantle of leadership of UNIUYO few months ago.
According to the group, his performance in office has been top notch, marked by visionary reforms, academic excellence, infrastructural renewal and purposeful administration that have repositioned the University on the global map.
“You have brought honour to Offot Ukwa and Akwa Ibom State at large through your scholarship, integrity and uncommon commitment to service,” the statement said.
