Oku Ibom Appointed Into Governing Council Of National Development Summit of Traditional Rulers Of Nigeria
The Oku Ibom Ibibio and Patriarch of Ibibio Land, His Eminence, Nteyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk has been appointed as a member of the Governing Council of the National Development Summit of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria.
The appointment was made known in a letter co-signed by HRM Dr. Emmanuel E. Sideso, Abel, JP, OON, Ovie of Uvwie Kingdom Chairman, Summit Governing Council; HRM Alhaji Umar Mohammed Atiku, Emir of Akko, Gombe State, Programme Chairman and HRM Igwe Prof. Laz E.N Ekwueme, NNOM, OON, Eze Ijikala II Igwe Oko, Secretary General.
The appointment letter addressed to the Oku Ibom Ibibio, who is the President General of the Supreme Council of Ibibio Traditional Rulers as well as the Chairman, Akwa Ibom Council of Chiefs, is dated January 6, 2019.
The body noted that the appointment came as a result of the fact that the Summit is gratified by Nteyin Etuk’s avowed commitment to national unity, peace and progress.
While congratulating the Ibibio Patriarch over his appointment, the Summit said that the Governing Council of the National Development Summit of Traditional Rulers look forward to the Patriarch’s never-failing ingenuity and uncommon fervency in the relationship with their organization.
The body stated, “We are confident that your impeccable integrity and brilliance will go a long way to enhancing the pursuits and purposes of this crucial summit. We look forward to a fruitful partnership with your kingdom and State in respect to the activities of the summit.”
The organization offered insight to the fact that National Development Summit of Traditional Rulers is a dominant non-political, self-financing forum of traditional rulers, inaugurated in 2008, to foster friendship among traditional rulers and bolster national peace, unity and development.
The Summit added “The summit has made impressive footprints on the sands of time, within the past 12 years of its adventure, bringing together traditional rulers and stake holders from diverse ethnic backgrounds all around the country, for annual interfacing on topical national issues, at Abuja.”
