Our Development Blueprint Remains Our Focus – Gov Eno
Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has said that his administration’s development strides are based on the ARISE Agenda, his economic blueprint and the needs documents presented to him by the people across the State.
The Governor made this known during the Government House Monthly Prayer Service at the Latter House Chapel, Government House, Uyo.
He said the development blueprint is a well-thought-out document put together for the development needs of the State.

“I want to assure Akwa Ibomites that we are still running on the development blueprint that we presented to the State. And we are working tirelessly to ensure that we achieve very good results on the goals of the people’s mandate, he said.
The Governor said development is not an automatic phenomenon and assured that his administration was taking and executing every development project and programme one after the other for the sustainable transformation of the state.

He reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring a significant increase in the State’s internally generated revenue to put the State on a better financial and economic pedestal.

“We want to make our State self-sustaining and sufficient. In the next few years, we should be able to raise our internally generated revenue to a point where it can at least pay our salaries.”
“From our Treasury Single Account, or TSA, started a month ago, it’s indeed heartwarming that our internally generated revenue has suddenly risen from N2 billion to N7 billion,” he said.
The Governor urged all government ministries, departments, agencies, and relevant financial stakeholders to abide by the set rules and standards of the TSA to bring more funds to the State, warning that any act of compromise or sabotage will be treated accordingly.

On the unfolding political season, Governor Eno urged everyone to read the political temperature in the State, and avoid heating the polity, stressing that there would not be any compensation for unwarranted political wastages.
He implored everyone to keep on supporting the peace, unity, and development of the State, stressing that the government is committed to ensuring that the security and welfare of the people are given priority.
Preaching on the theme “El-Shaddai – the God Almighty”, drawn from 2nd Corinthians 9:8 and Exodus 6:2-3, the founder and serving overseer of Firstlove Assembly, Port Harcourt, Rev. Simeon Afolabi, noted that no one gets to know God by going to the university but by His revelation, stressing that the revelation of God always dispels fear of man and gives boldness and strength to conquer.

Rev. Afolabi explained that “El-Shaddai” means the Almighty God, mighty in wisdom, excellence, power, influence, and in all spheres of life, and therefore, admonished Christians to keep on trusting God who, according to him, always surrounds His people like Mount Zion surrounds Jerusalem.
The service, which featured sessions of inspirational praise, worship, scripture reading, choir ministrations, and prayers, witnessed the presence of the Coordinator of the Office of the First Lady, Lady Helen Obareki; Deputy Governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; the Head of Civil Service, Mrs. Elsie Peters; members of the clergy; political stalwarts; captains of industry; government functionaries; and Christians across the State.
