Outstanding Spiritual Leadership: All Nations Apostle Obukpo Receives Honorary Doctorate Degree
The Founder and General Superintendent of Divine Mount Zion Church Inc. has been conferred with an honorary doctorate in Divinity by All Nations Theological School, Lagos, for his notable contribution to spiritual leadership, mentorship, philanthropy, youth and community development.
Speaking on the sidelines of his recent conferment held at his church auditorium in Ogudu, Ojota, Lagos, Apostle Dr. Francis Obukpo said he was encouraged by the award from the institution and urged others, especially leaders at all levels, to develop faith in doing good things for the betterment of society in general, saying “we all have different graces and callings from God.”
“For me, you know, a lot of times when we work, we do not know if anybody is noticing. We don’t know sometimes if we are making an impact.
This conferment reminds me again that people are watching and are being touched, and it is an encouragement to do more for God and humanity.
“As leaders generally, we should always demonstrate elements of leadership qualities by doing the right thing at all times,” he said.
Obukpo, who is also a member of the Akwa Ibom Clergy Forum (AICLEF), added that people in positions of authority should always think about inclusive government, saying that the people need to have input in the ways they are being governed.

The clergyman used the occasion to commend and congratulate the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, on his one year in office and for his unwavering commitment to the development of the state and people, transformative leadership and dedication to the welfare and well-being of the citizens of the state, and urged him to keep up.
He also appealed to the governor to remember the indigenes of Ini Local Government Area in particular on major infrastructure like a good road network, as that in particular has worried the people of the area.
Earlier in his address before the conferment, the institute’s chancellor, Dr. Akpan Utibe, while congratulating Dr. Obukpo, whom he described as a very humble, trustworthy, committed, hardworking, dedicated and disciplined man of God, said, “For us at All Nations Theological School, Lagos, we recognise the value of good work and we celebrate their tenacity, sacrifice, commitment and inventions, and we believe strongly that it is in celebrating them that we are inspiring them to do more for God and humanity, and encourage our students and other young people in the society that there is dignity in labour and value in doing the right and good things.”
He advised ministers of God in general to be passionate about their goals in life, and they should avoid being short-distance runners, but marathon runners should also focus on their callings.
Earlier in his words of admonition, guest minister, Apostle Tom Peter, said honour should be valued and urged the honoured to respect it. He also served the Lord, who is the source of honour, with all strength and continued to impact the world positively now that there is still grace from above.
The highlight of the service was the presentation of a certificate of conferment and portrait to Dr. Obukpo by the institute.
