
Luck has run out for two suspected vandals in Esit Eket as they were caught in the act by Operatives of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Sunday.
DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Akwa Ibom State Police Command, announced the arrest in a press release issued in Uyo on Monday, September 22, 2025.
According to the reports, the suspects, identified as Wisdom Nkereuwem Etefia, a 22-year-old male from Afaha Ekpenedi village, and Sunday Okon Kingsley, a 24-year-old male from Akpautong village, were caught in the act of vandalising Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) cables in Odoro Nkit village in Esit Eket LGA.
The suspects, identified as Wisdom Nkereuwem Etefia, a 22-year-old male from Afaha Ekpenedi village, and Sunday Okon Kingsley, a 24-year-old male from Akpautong village, were caught in the act of vandalising Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company (PHEDC) cables in Odoro Nkit village.

She said that following the arrest, “items recovered at the scene include a quantity of PHEDC cables and a Qlink motorcycle with registration number UYY242VC.”
The PPRO reaffirmed that the Akwa Ibom State Police Command remains committed to its mission of combating crime and ensuring the safety and security of all residents.
