
A stolen Toyota Carina E model has been found and successfully recovered by the Akwa Ibom State Police Command.
The vehicle, with registration number UYY 351 DA, was recovered along Aba Road, opposite the former SUA Hotel in Ikot Ekpene, at approximately 5:30 PM on Monday, August 5, 2025.
DSP Timfon John, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Akwa Ibom State Police Command, disclosed this in a press release on Friday, August 22, 2025, in Uyo, the state capital.
According to the PPRO, the recovered vehicle is suspected to be one of the cars stolen recently from the premises of a hospital in Uyo.
It was reported that the suspect, upon noticing the presence of the police, abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

Meanwhile, the police have spread their dragnet to identify and apprehend the suspect and appealed to members of the public who may have useful information that may lead to the suspect’s arrest to do so without fear.
The PPRO assured that the State Police Command remains committed to protecting the lives and property of all citizens, adding that further “developments on this case will be communicated to the public as they arise.”
