Reopen Akwa Ibom State University, Governnor Emmanuel Directs

Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel has directed the reopening of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) for academic activities.

This follows the adoption of recommendations of the visiting panel presented to the State Executive Council.
at its meeting at the Exco Chambers, Government House, Uyo, on Friday.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong disclosed this to Government House correspondents after the meeting of the State Executive Council.

Governor Emmanuel who presided over the meeting gave the directive after deliberations on recommendations made from the visiting panel’s report.

The Executive Council meeting which was convened basically to receive the visitation panel report from the Chairman of the visitation Panel and Chief of Staff to the Governor, Akparawa Ephraim-Inyang Eyen.

“The report made critical findings and recommendations and council deliberated on the report and accepted the recommendations and directed that the visitation panel immediately take steps to ensure that the closure of Akwa Ibom State University is brought to an end and that the institution be opened up for academic activities”, the Information Commissioner disclosed.

“The central theme of this meeting was AKSU and His Excellency, the governor has directed that the institution be opened for academic activities immediately”.
