The member representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam Federal Constituency and Chairman, Public Procurement Committee, Rep. Unyime Idem, has continued to put smiles on the faces of different groups and persons in his constituency in celebration of the Yuletide, with the latest being the sharing of food items and cash gifts to 187 traditional rulers in Ukanafun and Oruk Anam Local Government Areas.
Addressing the monarchs, comprising all the clan and village heads in Ukanafun and Oruk Anam, at his residence in Ukanafun, Rep. Idem thanked them for the support given to him, and promised to keep pushing for the interest of the Federal Constituency.
“I came to say thank you for supporting me, and for speaking to your subjects to support me.”
“I want to reiterate my promise to keep extending the frontiers of development and empowerment to the nooks and cranny of our federal constituency,” he said.
On the request made by the monarchs to be carried along in the next phase of the solar-powered street lighting project, Rep. Idem promised that the implementation of the second phase will begin from their domains.
The Clan Head of Southern Ukanafun, His Highness, Obong Ime Okarafor Abara, responded on behalf of traditional rulers in Ukanafun local government area, while the Clan Head of Ibesit, His Highness, Obong Idorenyin Ebong and Clan head of Obio Akpa, His Highness, Obong Christian Essien, spoke for traditional rulers in Oruk Anam local government area.

They expressed gratitude to the lawmaker for meeting them, saying it is the first time they have been feted during the Yuletide by a lawmaker.
The monarchs pledged their continuous support to Rep. Idem, urging him to sustain the tempo of empowering the people and attracting development to the federal constituency.
