Senator Ekpenyong Trains, Empowers Farmers With Capitals To Set Up Business

 

 

Senator Christopher Ekpenyong who emerged winner of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District rerun election over the weekend organised training for farmers and young entrepreneurs across the 108 wards that make up Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

The training was majorly on fish and poultry farming. Start-up capital was given to each farmer immediately after the training.

Senator Chris Ekpenyong who spoke before handing over the funds to the entrepreneurs, advised them to make judicious use of it, adding that he will ensure such is done continually on a quarterly basis.

The Senator reiterated his commitment to actualizing his campaign promises, while assuring them of more forms of empowerment. In his words, “I only answer the call to serve my people by creating lasting legacies. I don’t believe in handouts, I believe in capacity building. I believe everyone has the capacity to be great if given the opportunity that is why I will not rest or lag behind in the National Assembly.

The senator stressed that his job is simple and well defined, which he said is to be the voice of his people, and to provide excellent and sterling representation.

He promised never to let his people down, and reassured that he will create more entrepreneurs, and independent youths by focusing more on capacity building.

The senator further emphasized that he is not a man of many words, but believes in walking the talk.

The beneficiaries where selected across the 108 wards of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District. They were trained by Laguf Allied Company Ltd, under the supervision of Border Communities Development Agency, and startup cash was given out to all of them instantly.
